This is the Common Snapping Turtle. A mis-understood turtle. Quite Smart and Beautiful. Not dangerous in the water or if you simply leave it alone. These turtles can grow quite large and weigh up to 60 lbs.

Musk Turtle

This is the Musk Turtle. also known as the Stinkpot. It has musk glands. It is also considered relatively common.

This turtle is a little bit different looking and is a threatened species. If you see one, report it to us.

Spotted Turtle

This turtle is now becoming common. The spotted was only recently taken off the special watch list. The turtle likes the colder temperatures and is often the first out of hibernation in the spring.

Wood Turtle

This turtle's future is uncertain. Too many are killed by people mowing fields and Hay. They make homes in the fields and people dont see them. That is why you don't mow or cut tall grasses if you dont have too. Report sightings please.

Bog Turtle

This little guy is a federal protected species and the most endangered turtle species in the US currently. IF you see one report it to us please.

Eastern Box Turtle

THis turtle can close itself up tight in the shell...( hence the name BOX). Report sightings of this turtle too. Too many are taken out of the wild for pets. BAD IDEA!!!!

Northern Red Bellied Cooter

OK.. do not mistake a Painted Turtle with this guy.. this turtle will only be found in Plymouth County, MA ... It is a federally endangered turtle. RED plastron ( bottom) and doesn;t have the yellow marks near the eyes a painted turtle has. REPORT SIGHTINGS OF THIS TURTLE TO US.

Diamond Back Terrapin

This is an Uncommon turtle too. You will only find this turtle near the ocean areas, salty marshes. Not found in areas not near the ocean. Report sightings of this turtle too.

Red Eared Slider

This is the most common turtle for pets. Pet stores all over have been selling this pet for decades. Unfortunatly people release this pet into the wild ( BAD IDEA !!) So now.. it lives in the wild in the New England area. Fortunatly it has had no ill efects on the other turtles as of yet.
